The Brighton Heist Escape. An Introduction.

I love a good heist film or heist tv series. In fact, it was when I was halfway through the Spanish produced tv series, Money Heist, that I decided that a heist would make a great basis for an interactive treasure hunt. The Brighton Heist Escape is a brand-new treasure hunt allied to the tension of a one-hour escape time that is popular in escape rooms. Team building, birthdays and hen/stag events are just three of the reasons you might want to choose this as a featured event, or you are a local group of family/friends who want something fun and original to do on a weekend.
I`m not sure if it`s just me, but I am always on the side of the robbers and hope they get away with the heist. Often video games or escape rooms set you up to be the good guys and save the day. I felt this time though it would be a subtle change to be the robbers and see what you can get away with!
Black Cat is the mastermind behind an audacious bank heist on a big bank just around the corner from Brighton`s Royal Pavilion. Two teams or more of between 4-6 `robbers` are invited to complete as many of the photo/video challenges, questions, scavenge items as possible; and even bribe a `double-crosser` on route, before the one hour is up. An alarm has been set to go off after that time and if you don`t make it to the end before then you have failed your escape and are open to capture. Teams are rated out of 100 as they endeavour to rendezvous with Black Cat back on the seafront and disappear with the money on a waiting boat.
Check out my separate blog on my favourite heist films over the years and find out which elements I have attempted to include within this original treasure hunt. From the humour of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid pulling off multiple bank heists, through the botched bank heist of Reservoir Dogs with their colour coded names and now, on to the tv series I mentioned earlier, the fine detail behind the planning. In addition, Brighton provides the perfect backdrop to integrate this scenario with lightly humoured questions set against your dramatic dash to potential safety.
The time for your escape may be limited, but you can book this on any day of the week and either in the morning or afternoon at a time to suit. Brighton is Black Cat Treasure Hunts` first venture into Heist Escape treasure hunts, but Chichester and Lewes have also been selected as excellent venues for similar escapades.
Looking back at all of those films you could say that the heist in The Sting was the ultimate success whilst the disaster of All The Usual Suspects heist attempt a massive fail. How will your team compare? Black Cat has devised a scoring system out of 100 to rate your heist escape. Will you be lauded as heist escape masterminds or were you still in jail when trying to complete this new one!
