Spring Forward To Treasure Hunt Fun.

With the clocks going forward this weekend I thought it was a neat time to look ahead to the next few months here at Black Cat Treasure Hunts H.Q.  Did you like that link?! What are the treasure hunt trends for Spring? Where can you actually bump into Black Cat himself? and...What type of team building treasure hunt event could you plan for the Summer, after you have talked to me of course?!

One trend that has definitely emerged is that, despite the up and down Covid numbers, a majority of people considering a treasure hunt have high confidence now in planning for and completing an event. April sees the the re-appearance of a number of hen parties who had to cancel over the last two years and are now ready to come out to play, with the wedding now successfully re-scheduled in 2022. This is great news of course and the head bridesmaids or Sisters or chief organisers of the hen weekends are almost incredulous that the time has actually arrived. I have no idea how the brides must be feeling!

An optional extra service that I was slow to offer maybe but is now being taken up by half the bookings, including hen party treasure hunts, is to book me (Black Cat) on the day to do the organising and marking/judging. Team building treasure hunts have always been given the opportunity offload the responsibility of using subjective marking on their friends and colleagues, but not so the hen party treasure hunts. I changed my booking form last year to open it up to everyone and certainly in April and May it does appear that people are genuinely are after an independent organiser. It does make sense when you have done all the chasing round of people for availability, deposits, and ideas, you just want to relax and have fun with them come the duration of the hen weekend. As the person called on to do this it is great to get instant feedback on how the treasure hunt went and which parts were enjoyed the most.

For some treasure hunt events it is integral for me to be in attendance to ensure they run smoothly as part of the whole promotion. For example, on Sunday 3rd April I will be co-hosting an Easter Egg treasure Hunt challenge in Brighton with Lyndsey, founder of Connected Brighton. Starting from the Post House Cafe in Brighton it is a great event for anyone new to Brighton, looking to meet new people or even longstanding Brightonians looking for a different way to have fun on a Sunday morning. We will finish at a well know pub for food, drink and a chance to discuss who the successful recipients of the Easter eggs will be.
Whereas that treasure hunt is aimed at adults, a few weeks later I will be attending a treasure hunt on Saturday 16th April in Seaford for all ages. This is on behalf of Seaford Bonfire Society with all welcome to take part in a team, exploring the town and claiming ultimate victory. Once again, there will be prizes on offer and chocolate eggs for children participating. It will start at the Salts Cafe and end at the White Lion for a great morning/early afternoon of fun.
To take part in either of these and to realise I actually exist then please use the following link or contact method:

Finally, as I am writing this in t shirt and shorts (and no the heating is not up full blast) I thought a few team building treasure hunt ideas might be worth you considering. Have your staff been making those tentative steps back to more office based work? Treasure hunts are a great way to re-integrate everyone and make new staff welcome and part of the team too. Possibly you are re-locating your business?..or.. having a heads of department team session?.. and want an original way to get out and about exploring/discovering your surroundings. Or ...maybe you just want a good excuse to combine a competitve treasure hunt with a beach bbq and sink a few beers and cocktails to generate cameraderie?  Black Cat Treasure Hunts is here for you...I am good like that! Contact me (Tim) on:  info@blackcattreasurehunts.co.uk  to discuss your brief/requirements.
