When you mention the words fun and quirky and apply them to Brighton you will be inundated with all sorts of options! Rather than give you 143 ways to experience fun and quirkiness in Brighton, I present to you my top ten examples of quirky and fun challenges. I have selected these from the last few years of hen party treasure hunts and team building treasure hunts as found in real Black Cat treasure hunts.

1. Tunnel Karaoke:
One of the ways to access SeaLife, Brighton is through a tunnel next to the seafront. Inside the tunnel are some great murals of singers and bands with a Brighton connection. The temptation is often too much for Black Cat to include a challenge for a hen party team or for that matter a team building team to give it their best shot in front of their preferred group. Are you going for your version of ABBA`s `Waterloo` or Fat Boy Slim`s `Right Here, Right Now`.  The results have indeed been funny and quirky especially when the team can get more points for original and co-ordinated dancing to go with their choice.

2. Shark Cage Adventure:
Just when you have recovered from the ordeal of listening to your personnel manager singing `The Winner Takes It All`, at the other end of the tunnel is a shark cage. Clearly an obvious opportunity for a fun photo of your team looking scared, amused, brave or...squashed. Treasure hunts can be won or lost in this small area.

3. Robin Hood Comes to Brighton:
The hen party treasure hunts and team building treasure hunts are personalised. This means that when a chief bridesmaid tells you that the bride to be wants to be like Maid Marion and get married to a man in a forest then you need to take notice and set an appropriately quirky and fun challenge. Suffice to say that if you were a merry man dressed all in green on the day that this hen party was in town there`s a fair chance your photo was taken on more than one occasion!

4. Friends are what count:
Talking about personalised treasure hunts and you never know what people will mention. I am just as likely to pick up on more predictable answers alongside getting married in a forest. Anyone who watched a bit of TV from the mid 90`s to the mid 2000`s might list `Friends` as one of their favourites. Now, you might get a few points for your team replicating an in-time series of claps like during the intro theme tune to the program.  You will though get more points if you give one or more items of your clothing to someone else in your team who then has to wear everything and give a passable impression of `Chandler` saying, "Could I be wearing any more clothes?"

5. Film Star for a Day:
Maybe you have daydreamed about being a film star? A quirky and fun activity is to actually become one. Brighton has featured in a number of films over the years...Quadrophenia and Brighton Rock are two that spring to mind. However, using all the natural props in Brighton then it`s great to see what team building treasure hunt teams can achieve in this challenge. Titanic in the boats outside the fishing museum and Saving Private Ryan on Brighton beach are fine examples of high points scoring challenges

6. Walk Like an Egyptian:
If you combine a few of the acting skills that you may have demonstrated in the last challenge but with a random photo of a bride to be modelling an ancient Egyptian princess` headdress then you get `Walk Like An Egyptian`. I don`t think I need to say too much more, but if you are a bit too young to understand what I am going on about then look up `The Bangles` on YouTube.

7. I`m A Celebrity:
Sometimes under likes or dislikes people might mention cold baked beans or, for example, a hatred of fish will be listed. They will then go on to describe  their high level of bravery and participation in extreme sports. This person is setting themselves up for the eating of cold, raw herring or anchovy challenge on Brighton seafront. You have been warned!

8. SpongeBob SquarePants vs Fight Club.
One company innocently mentioned they were formed in 1999 prior to their team building treasure hunt. This turned into the quirkiest collection of videos ever produced on a challenge. Either becoming SpongeBob behaving in a happy go lucky manner or filming something on route that the whole team would agree not to talk about on their return to the office on the Monday was definitely the way forward for anyone after fun and quirkiness. We have a lot to thank 1999 for in terms of new releases.

9. That `Themes` Appropriate:
A couple of years ago a company of lawyers wanted a murder mysterytheme for their team building treasure hunt. I felt at the time it was a bold request, albeit very appropriate and fun. Challenge 1 after 5 minutes walking was to re-create the scene out of Alfred Hitchcock's film, The Birds, with pigeons (happened to be a lot around) rather than crows and ravens. Careful what you wish for!
That was incidentally for a London treasure hunt, but Brighton has been the scene for many a Murder Mystery themed treasure hunt since.

10. All in a Day`s Work:
Sometimes when there are a lot of people on a team building treasure hunt, it is not possible to include information and photos of and about everyone taking part. On those occasions I tend to go off on a bit of a tangent when creating quirky and fun challenges. Such was the case last year on June 16th. As you may know already that day is also National Sea Turtle Day, National Richard Day and National Fudge Day. It turned out that no-one in this company knew those facts until the start of the treasure hunt.
With a nearby SeaLife (as mentioned earlier), a photo of a Sea Turtle turned out not to be too difficult. However, where is a stranger called Richard to be found when you need one and could you have afforded the top of the range salted caramel fudge, in order to bribe Black Cat for extra points!

As you can see a whole world of quirky and fun things to do in Brighton await you. Most of them are wrapped up in a Black Cat Treasure Hunts challenge!
